Dior's doing tie ups and boots for SS 2011

The shoes featured so far in fashion weeks this season have been uninspired, uninteresting, unoriginal. While there is nothing new under the sun, John Galliano’s collection for Christian Dior featured,  fun, colorful and reasonably interesting shoes.
I have read criticism that these shoes are too subdued for John Galliano, and that the collection isn’t really a Dior Girl’s collection. I am not sure who the  Dior Girl is and what she is supposed to wear, but subdued isn’t the term I would use for this collection.  It would be nice to get an upclose and personal look at these to see how they are made..

Keep An Eye On

Fashion Week season is here! And this October hosts a plethora of fw's across the globe. Ive got a list of one I think you should keep an eye out for - for gorgeous (sometimes CRAZY) fashion and shoes!!

Los Angeles Fashion Week  (Oct 20-25) - Will be featuring a lot of fresh and young talent from the American subcontinent, with the grand finale by Li Cari. LAFW is coming up and should become a major player in the international fashion week scene in a few years time.

Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week - Spring Summer 2011 (Oct 23-27) - WIFW is back! And Delhi's all geared for the week long fashion fiesta to be held at Pragiti Maidan. With a successful CWG all wrapped up, we're looking to host a spectacular fashion week! With  JJ Valaya and Ritu Beri jazzing up Day 1 and Tarun Tahiliani's grand finale, looks to be a good one to follow!

Atlantic Fashion Week (Oct 26-30) - The NSCAD is going to have a big representation this year at AFW along with recurring favorites from the emerging talent we saw last season! Though AFW is on a smaller scale and miles behind any international fashion week, its got a inspiring flux of local talent, Akshay Tyagi and Kavita Khanna being two potential heavyweights to watch out for!

Belgrade Fashion Week (Oct 26-31) - Though one might not know much or at all about Serbian fashion, fashion week is a good place to start. It is quite an experience to watch their provocative and provocative yet ethno central creations come to life on the ramp.

Flavour Of The Week - Nike's Got It Down!

SneakerFreaker's back and talking bout NIKE - Lessons in Sneakers.

                                         AIR MAX CB34

This Godzilla of a shoe packs plenty of chunk in the trunk, with the rippling waves of the upper breaking up the bulk. This is audacious 90s basketball design at its best. Look out for them to hit stores in December. This shoe reminds me of the Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air and Kenan n Kel ... yea ... OLD SCHOOL BABY!

                                                         AIR JORDAN III

HIS ROYAL HIGHNESS...The Jordan III is back baby! Perhaps the most iconic of all the Jordan silhouettes, the III returns in the classic White/Cement colourway with the signature crackle attack on the heel and toe. Said to be MJ's own personal favourite, these are set to be a surefire sellout.

                              NIKE LEBRON VIII

With all the fan fury surrounding LeBron's move to Miami, the new LeBron VIII would always prove a tough sell at first, especially given the popularity of the VII.Backlash aside, the real test of opinion was going to come on the heels of the first hot colourways. And yes ... the new Lebron 7 is BETTER THAN SEX !! =D

till next time!

Trend Report - Shoes @ New York Fashion Week Spring 2011

Ever heard the old maxim that you can never have too much of a good thing? I like to think that these wise words apply to the Shoes at New York Fashion Week this September. After all, with a riper-than-ripe selection of shoe choices stomping the yard of Lincoln Center, Milk Studios, and every West Side block in between, can you really blame me? It's hard to resist: Sometimes a good shoe is all you need to take an outfit to that next I-just-got-street-style-snapped level.  Go through some of the stellar footwear spotted at Fashion Week. Happy ogling!

Steve Madden joined forces with Z-Spoke and produced this extremely tall lace up bootie complete with floral heels and tread. Thin leather straps and ruffle details round out this heel's fierce look.
Diane von Furstenberg

Lavender curtain-like rope put a new spin on the season's must-have lace-up sandal. A suede platform and a golden heel were the perfect finishing touches to a colorful collection

Mint green ankle straps made a pastel splash on the runway. Her Goddess collection never looked so complete!

Gold metallics stood the test of time at DVF with accented heels and geometric shapes. Rope-like straps completed this sandal fit for a goddess.

Christian Siriano continues his collaboration with Payless with the debut of his Spring 2011 collection. Architectural heels in brazen colors will have women darting to the nearest Payless store.

Super sculptural gold platforms complemented the golden goddess look at RODARTE. Nicholas Kirkwood's strong sense of architecture seamlessly translates into this heavenly creation!
Ports 1961
Tawny golds, ivories, and pale iridescents were accented by simply chic footwear at Ports 1961. A mesh peep toe bootie like this can easily transition into any working woman's wardrobe.

Bold colors and Chinese-inspired prints rounded out Alberta Ferretti's West-meets-East spring presentation. The splashy prints brought this chunky heel to life and would serve as the perfect sandal for a summery white dress!

The ankle boot gets a fresh start this spring in a crisp white palette and cut out insets. A subtle snakeskin heel and multiple straps are a perfect way to usher in the new season!

We can certainly appreciate a neutral shoe with a pop of detail! Peter Som gave us just that with a platform wedge heel embellished with heaps of delicate lace and multiple straps.
